Nayvail (operated by Grimlingo Limited, Cork) is building a software-driven bookkeeping service for purely digital Irish and UK businesses — SaaS, online services and digital agencies with no cash and no inventory. We automate the whole accounting workflow, from invoicing and bank feeds through to VAT, payroll and tax filing. We're looking for a full-stack developer to join our small team part-time and help build it.
We build with modern AI coding tools (like Claude Code) as a core part of how we work. That means we care far more about how you think, learn and build than about how many years you've done it. If you have solid fundamentals and can move fast with AI tools — then read, test and trust what you ship — you can do this job whether you're a student, a recent grad, self-taught, or already experienced.
Our stack is Python background workers (Redis/RQ), a web frontend, and integrations with open banking, Stripe and government tax APIs (Revenue / HMRC). You'll touch most of it.
Please note: applicants must be legally entitled to work within Ireland and the EU.
What you will do
Work across our four codebases: customer portal, ledger engine , integrations service, and website
Build and maintain integrations with banking, payments and tax-filing APIs
Use AI coding tools to ship features fast, then verify, test and harden them
Turn accounting rules (worked out with our finance specialist) into reliable automated logic
Help keep the system secure, tested and maintainable
What we are looking for
Solid programming fundamentals in at least one language (Python a plus)
Comfortable working — or genuinely eager to learn — across both front end and back end
Able to use AI coding tools to move fast, and to read, debug and verify code (including AI-generated code)
Curious, self-directed and clear in communication
Students, recent grads, self-taught and career-changers all welcome — we hire on how you build, not years or degrees
Nice to have
Any Python experience
Experience with REST APIs, webhooks or background job queues
Exposure to fintech, payments, accounting or open banking
Frontend framework experience (React/Vue)
