In order to work in Ireland a non-EEA National, unless they are exempted, must hold a valid employment permit. Please review the Eligibility and requirements for an employment permit if you are unsure of your eligibility to apply for this vacancy.
Nayvail (operated by Grimlingo Limited, Cork) is building a software-driven bookkeeping service for purely digital Irish and UK businesses — SaaS, online services and digital agencies with no cash and no inventory. We're looking for an experienced, detail-driven accountant or bookkeeper to join our product team part-time and help make sure our system gets the accounting right.
This is not a traditional client-bookkeeping job. Rather than doing the books for clients, you'll help us prove our software does. You'll design realistic financial scenarios a digital business might encounter, build them as test data, run them through our system, and check the output end to end: Is each invoice and entry correct? Is the right nominal and VAT treatment applied? Does the period-end (VAT, payroll, Corporation Tax) come out right? Where it doesn't, you'll work with our developers to find out why and get it fixed.
You'll be the accounting "source of truth" our engineers build against. If you know what a correct set of books looks like for an Irish or UK small company, and you enjoy getting the details exactly right, we would love to hear from you.
Please note: applicants must already have the right to work in Ireland. We are not able to sponsor an employment permit for this role.
What you will do
Design test scenarios across what a pure-digital business meets: sales invoicing, Stripe/bank feeds, expenses and approvals, VAT, payroll and year-end
Build these as sample financial data and run them through our system
Verify the results: invoice and credit-note accuracy, nominal account coding, VAT treatment, and period-end filings
Document what's correct, what's wrong, and what "correct" should look like
Work with our developers to investigate and resolve incorrect accounting logic
What we are looking for
Solid practical experience in Irish and/or UK bookkeeping or accounting (Accounting Technician, part-qualified, qualified or experienced bookkeeper all welcome)
Confident with VAT, payroll basics, nominal/chart-of-accounts coding and small-company year-end
Strong attention to detail and a methodical, testing mindset
Comfortable with software and giving clear, structured feedback to a technical team
Able to work independently and remotely
Nice to have
Cloud accounting (Xero, QuickBooks) or ERP experience
Exposure to SaaS, digital or e-commerce businesses
An interest in automation and how accounting works under the hood
This is a part-time, flexible role (hours rise and fall with our development cycle). It is fully remote, but you must be based in Ireland and legally resident here. Fluent English (written and spoken) is required.
Please note: a complete CV is required to be considered for this role. Applications submitted without a CV cannot be progressed.Apply at the original listing →Post your own listing — €10Share on WhatsApp
